Risk & Fair-Play Disclosure

This disclosure explains, in plain terms, what to expect before you enter a paid contest on ADYTUS. It is part of, and read together with, the Terms of Service and the Official Contest Rules. Please read it before you pay an entry fee.

1. You can lose your entry fee

A contest entry fee is a fixed amount, published and identical for every entrant, and you know it before you pay. If you do not finish in a prize-paying rank, you do not get the entry fee back (except in the limited refund cases in the Official Contest Rules, such as a cancelled or under-filled contest). Only enter with an amount you are comfortable not winning back.

2. There is no guarantee you will win

Prizes are fixed amounts keyed only to final rank. Whether you place depends on how you perform against other entrants. Past results do not predict future ones. We do not promise any outcome, ranking, or prize.

3. Outcomes are skill — not chance

Contests are decided by the quality of the arguments you make and the strategic choices you commit, scored by an automated evaluator (the “Oracle”) under a rubric fixed before the round. The Oracle runs deterministically and its scoring is replayable. There is no external event and no random element deciding the result. This is a game of skill.

4. Contest Vouchers have no cash value

The Contest Vouchers (“CV”) and points you use inside a round are play credit for keeping score. They cannot be bought, sold, redeemed, withdrawn, or transferred, they exist only inside the round that issued them, and they expire when it settles. Your CV standing does not entitle you to any payment — prizes depend solely on final rank.

5. Entries are final

Once you commit a position in a contest, it is final: there is no exit, reversal, or transfer. Make sure you understand a contest’s rules before you enter.

6. Technology can fail

Software, networks, and third-party services can be interrupted or behave unexpectedly. If a round is affected by a technical fault or suspected manipulation, we may pause, void, or re-run it under the Official Contest Rules; if a paid contest is voided, entry fees are refunded.

7. Taxes are your responsibility

You are responsible for any taxes on prizes you win. Where the law requires, we report prize winnings and may withhold amounts required by law. We do not provide tax advice; keep your Statements for your records.

8. Play responsibly
