The Stoa

Lessons — how the show works, from question to prize.

Practice — CV is play money. No prizes.

Chapter 1

The Question

Every contest asks something no newspaper could ever settle — a T-Rex in the Olympic final, a knight against fifty geese. If the answer could appear in the news, the question is rejected. The Oracle's verdict is the only verdict.

Would a medieval knight in full plate beat 50 angry geese?

Could a newspaper ever settle this one?

Chapter 2

The Engine

Over twelve rounds the Engine argues with itself and publishes its lean each round, with its reasoning in the open. Watch a real deliberation move.

Chapter 3

Conviction

Your seat comes with 100,000 CV — Conviction. It is play money: it can't be bought, sold, or moved to another contest, and it expires when the show ends. Your opening pick puts all of it on one side.

Put it all on a side

Chapter 4

The Bank

Every round banks whatever you hold, on both sides. Hold everything on one side and the bank grows fast — if you're right. Split 50/50 and half banks on the winner no matter what. That trade-off IS the game.

Chapter 5

The Verdict

At the final round the Engine rules. Only the bank on the winning side counts, multiplied by the contest tier — watch the math perform.

Chapter 6

The Prize

Prizes are fixed dollar amounts by rank, published before entry opens. The seat is the only money in; the prize is the only money out. Your positions never touch money — that's a feature, and it's the law of this house.
